So the legacy of Eid continued this year too. Bollywood witnessed one more Bhai film on Eid. Sultan is a 2016 Indian sports-drama film written and directed by Ali Abbas Zafar. Produced by Aditya Chopra under Yash Raj Films banner, Sultan is powered by Action filled dramatically descent central performance by Salman Khan and Anushkain pivotal roles with the Salman playing a wrestler, Sultan Ali Khan, who rises from a small town and achieves global fame by winning the Wrestling World Champion title. Sultan is a story of the wrestler’s rise and fall and his professional comeback years later as a Pro-Wrestler. The movie co-stars RandeepHooda, AmitSadh, ParikshitSahni, and MMA fighter Tyron Woodley.

Sultan exactly proves what one expects from a Salman Khan movie. Yes, you guessed it right! It is an Eid special, a complete family entertainer that will make you laugh and cry, will inspire you andmake you determined to believe in yourself. The first half is in creating the plot for the film and has enough colours to keep one engaged. Come the second half, the movie shapes up really well and concluded the first half really well. The movie’s flow here and make it worth watching a Salman film.

13627070_1216170661750110_3102543495750972735_nSalman Khan proves yet again why he is India’s greatest entertainer today. Sultan is the frame that Salman is using from quite long now that has pushed him high in recent years. So the results are quite obvious. He plays Sultan Ali Khan with the clear conscience of a child. The innocence he is able to exude on the silver is one of Salman’s greatest charms. Anushka Sharma gets more screen time than any other actress has ever got in a Salman Khan film in recent times. And, to her credit, she does succeed in making her presence felt. The leads are influentially supported by the supporting cast with RandeepHooda and AmitSadh delivering a memorable performance.

Overall, Sultan is an out and out family entertainer with high dose of Salmanismthat would enthral the average viewer with its themes of love, sacrifice, success, failure, guilt and redemption. And, as Ali Abbas Zafar promised, Sultan does succeed in presenting a new face sports protagonists. And who better than Salman Khan to set this new trend? Sultan, for the most part, teleports us to a world of romanticism, escapism, scattered career path and wrong decisions but realism seldom goes well with the Indian audiences. The fighting sequences in the movie are brilliantly choreographed. Also, the set decoration is absolutely commendable. Some of the aerial shots of Old Delhi with the famous Jama Masjid in the backdrop are breath-taking to watch. The film’s plot and superstar presence savor it without any reservations. Salman Khan continues to be on a roll. Another grand box-office opening is on the cards for him.Only his name sets the cash flowing on ticket windows and when it’s Eid, the stardom of Salman Khan just grows by leaps and bounds. This is merely one of the best performances of Salman. He is truly proving his worth in the industry and to the film market. He is profitable and a worth entertainer.

I will quote Sultan as an “emotional smack-down saga” and Salman has never been better, change of pace and into the action suits him perfectly. Showcased Sultan to my favourite list.
